Senior Manager, Trade Operations & Compliance, EMEA (SAP GTS)

Location: Oxford, England; 70% in-office work model

What you will do

• Lead regional trade compliance strategy and strengthen the Global Trade & Operations Program across EMEA.
• Oversee import and export execution, product classification, customs documentation, valuation, origin, licensing, and recordkeeping.
• Implement and improve trade compliance programs, including special customs procedures, duty relief, bonded warehouses, and other optimization initiatives.
• Drive digital transformation using SAP GTS, MIC, Descartes, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Manage customs authorities, audits, investigations, brokers, freight forwarders, and 3PL relationships.
• Partner with Legal, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Tax, and Logistics while developing training, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of professional experience, including 6 years in compliance, legal, auditing, or investigations, preferably in biotechnology, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals.
• Strong knowledge of the EU Union Customs Code, local EMEA customs laws, import/export operations, dual-use regulations, classification, valuation, origin, and free trade agreements.
• Experience managing customs brokers, freight forwarders, 3PLs, and regulatory interactions across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience implementing digital trade compliance tools such as SAP GTS, MIC, Descartes, or similar systems.
• Excellent written and spoken English required; enhanced pre-employment checks may apply.
