Mechanical Engineer (Electromechanical)

Location: Hybrid position in Melville, New York, United States; up to 15% travel.

Salary: $90,000–$105,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and test mechanical and electromechanical components, systems, and equipment for new and existing products.
• Evaluate systems using principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials science.
• Design feasibility studies, testing methods, prototypes, and material-selection evaluations.
• Develop and modify manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
• Validate product quality, system capabilities, and regulatory compliance through testing and documentation.
• Prepare engineering reports, maintain product data, and train and guide technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Ability to create designs using 3D CAD and drafting software; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Experience with mechanical design concepts, consumer product manufacturing, high-volume automated manufacturing, and manual assembly.
• Experience with design, prototyping, material selection, regulatory compliance, and validation testing.
• Knowledge of PC boards and electronics packaging.
