Collator Operator - 2nd Shift

Location: Osage, Iowa, United States; onsite, 2nd shift

Salary: $22.44–$31.62 per hour; starting minimum rate of $24.44 per hour including shift differential, plus a $2 per hour shift premium

What you will do

• Set up and operate collating, labeling, and window-patching machines for customer-specific printed materials.
• Assemble and finish paper products through folding, stapling, gluing, perforating, cutting, label application, and film application.
• Review work specifications and maintain the required sequence and dimensional accuracy.
• Perform safety inspections, document equipment problems, and track production.
• Work Monday through Friday from 3:00pm to 11:00pm; occasional overtime, including weekends, may be required.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret work orders and collating specifications.
• Knowledge of the quality and machining requirements of coated and uncoated paper stock.
• Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations and different paper weights, colors, and qualities.
• Ability to calculate distances, clearances, and fits when combining machines.
• Ability to use standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain collating machines.
• Thorough knowledge of collating-machine setup, operation, capabilities, limitations, folding, cutting, and finishing procedures.
