What you will do

• Inspect construction projects, structures, utilities, streets, sidewalks, and related infrastructure for compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and regulations.
• Review construction methods, materials, plans, and specifications, and recommend approvals where appropriate.
• Perform routine field tests and inspect materials submitted for laboratory examination or analysis.
• Document construction progress, field conditions, discrepancies, materials used, completed work, daily activities, and inspection results.
• Assist the Project Manager with reviewing plan and specification changes before contractor execution and with approving billings and progress payments.
• Monitor job-site safety, traffic control, and pedestrian safety, while coordinating with client departments, stakeholders, and contractors.

Requirements

• At least four years of experience in inspection, construction, operations, or a related combination of training and experience.
• A two-year college degree is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of inspection procedures, construction standards, and applicable building and safety codes.
• Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications, evaluate work quality, and identify discrepancies or nonconforming conditions.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, verbal, and written English communication skills.
• Ability to perform physical site work, including frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, lifting 20 or more pounds, and occasional climbing.
