Field Inspectors (Civil Engineering)

Location: Empire State Building, New York, New York; field office reporting required

Salary: $66,320–$75,364 per year

What you will do

• Inspect existing conditions, active work, and completed work for quality, completeness, and accuracy.
• Prepare daily work reports, controlled inspection reports, time and material records, and unit price work documentation.
• Review and mark plans and specifications to track compliance with performed work.
• Observe site conditions for compliance with applicable safety regulations.
• Prioritize conflicting needs, resolve matters promptly, and follow projects through completion.
• Communicate work progress with project stakeholders and perform related inspection duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of construction supervision or inspection experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required.
• Ability to pass a high-level TWIC and/or SWAC background check.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods and work swing, night, or weekend shifts as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with rail, tunnel, structural, or station projects.
• Experience with substations.
• Advanced certifications such as NICET or ACI.
