Complex Claims Director (TPA Oversight)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; primarily in-office work required

Base salary: $104,600–$125,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.

What you will do

• Analyze, investigate, and process complex bodily injury and third-party property damage claims.
• Evaluate exposure, liability, coverage, damages, and reserves, and drive prompt, cost-effective claim resolution.
• Direct independent adjusters, vendors, and coverage counsel, including litigation, arbitration, mediation, settlement conferences, and trials.
• Prepare coverage letters, maintain complete claim documentation, process invoices, and meet required diary and task deadlines.
• Partner with underwriters and internal stakeholders on large losses, industry trends, claim guidelines, and reporting requirements.
• Review TPA financials for accuracy and alignment with TTPO financials while supporting TPA governance and relationship management.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of General Liability and Auto claims experience.
• Experience handling complex, high-exposure General Liability bodily injury and property damage claims.
• Advanced litigation claims management experience, including alternative dispute resolution and mediation for auto and General Liability exposures.
• Strong technical expertise interpreting insurance contracts and applying claims handling procedures and best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to champion technology-enabled change initiatives and improve benchmarking capabilities.
