Claims Specialist II - Management Specialty Lines (Insurance)

Location: South Carolina, United States; normal office environment.

Salary: $69,500–$129,000 national range; expected starting range of $69,500–$103,500.

What you will do

• Investigate and evaluate coverage, liability, and damages for litigated and non-litigated claims.
• Develop claim strategies, settlement recommendations, and file reserves within approved authority.
• Analyze policy coverage and provide claim resolution strategies.
• Manage claims involving errors and omissions, directors and officers, and employment practices liability.
• Collaborate with insureds, agents, legal counsel, underwriters, and other business partners.
• Provide feedback on claim trends and maintain knowledge of insurance regulations, court decisions, guidelines, and policy changes.

Requirements

• Typically 2–4 years of claims handling experience.
• Prior experience directing defense counsel is required.
• College degree preferred; Juris Doctorate desired.
• Required federal and/or state licenses or registrations must be obtained within the designated period.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• A credit check and/or background check is required as part of the selection process.
