Senior Claims Examiner, Excess Construction

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; hybrid. US work authorization is required.

Salary: $78,000–$107,250 annual base salary, plus a 15% incentive.

What you will do

• Handle moderate- to high-complexity and exposure claims from coverage review through liability assessment, damages analysis, negotiation, and resolution.
• Review policies, confirm coverage, communicate coverage positions, and prepare coverage position letters.
• Conduct and direct loss investigations, monitor experts and outside counsel, evaluate exposure, and set or recommend reserve changes.
• Negotiate and settle litigated claims, represent hirify.global at mediations, trials, and conferences, and manage litigation expenses.
• Present trial-related cases and loss information to claims leaders, underwriters, insureds, and other business stakeholders.
• Train and coach claims colleagues, contribute to special projects, and serve as a technical referral point.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of claims handling experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Must have or be eligible to obtain a claims adjuster license.
• Experience with negotiation, mediation, trial monitoring, litigation management, and directing defense attorneys and experts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization, communication, and autonomous decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of tort and contract law, plus intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Nice to have

• JD, advanced degree, or focused technical degree.
• Industry designations such as INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, or CPCU.
• Participation in industry training programs such as CLM Claim College, Munich Re Training, or FDCC.
