Manager, Engineering and Quality (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Lead Development Engineering and Quality Assurance teams and align their work with departmental and business-unit objectives.
• Drive the design and development of fiber cable products through the full product lifecycle.
• Oversee engineering projects with internal teams and vendors, ensuring timely delivery, profitability, and compliance with specifications.
• Develop and maintain plant quality plans, ISO Quality Management Systems, standards, processes, and best practices.
• Lead audits, statistical capability initiatives, corrective actions, quality metrics, and root-cause investigations.
• Partner with operations and inspection teams to resolve non-conforming materials and prevent recurring quality issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least seven years of experience in mechanical design engineering, product development, manufacturing engineering, or quality engineering.
• Previous management experience and experience managing engineering teams are required.
• Manufacturing-environment experience, regulatory compliance knowledge, and validation testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of product development and NPI processes, ISO 9001 or equivalent quality systems, APQP, PAC, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools.
• Proficient English communication skills, strong statistical techniques, FEA/FMEA, Microsoft Office, project management, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Nice to have

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Reliability Engineer certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt experience.
• Strong vendor and supply-chain partnership experience.
