TL;DR
Engineering Supervisor (Lithium-Ion Batteries): Leading engineering teams supporting high-volume lithium-ion battery production with an accent on manufacturing process optimization, OEE improvement, quality control, and real-time troubleshooting. Focus on developing production methods, standard work instructions, and short- and long-term plans while coordinating with production, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams.

Location: Onsite in Sparks, Nevada, United States

What you will do

  • Lead a team of engineers supporting daily battery production activities.
  • Optimize Overall Equipment Efficiency to increase productivity and reduce defects, losses, and costs.
  • Use production data to manage priorities, troubleshoot real-time issues, and maintain production performance.
  • Monitor and audit manufacturing processes to ensure product specifications and quality standards are achieved.
  • Develop standard work instructions, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and improved production processes.
  • Plan team activities, allocate resources, track project progress, and collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality Control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, product development, design, or a related area.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, prioritize work, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous leadership experience, industrial data analysis or MES experience, and high-volume manufacturing experience are preferred.
  • Applicants must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience with batteries or electronic-device manufacturing at 1M+ units per day.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
  • Experience using JMP, Minitab, Python, or MATLAB for data analysis.
  • Battery production or R&D experience.
