Engineering Supervisor (Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing)

hirify.global manufactures cylindrical lithium-ion cells at a large-scale battery factory near Reno, Nevada, in collaboration with Tesla for electric vehicles and energy storage systems.

What you will do

• Lead a team of engineers supporting daily battery production activities.
• Optimize Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) to improve productivity and reduce defects, losses, and costs.
• Use production data to manage tasks, monitor manufacturing processes, and ensure product specifications and standards are achieved.
• Troubleshoot real-time production issues and develop standard work instructions, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
• Develop production processes and methods that increase production rates and improve quality.
• Plan team activities, track project progress, allocate resources, and collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering, and quality control teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or materials engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, product development, design, or a related area.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, prioritize effectively, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Onsite work includes potential PPE requirements, including safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, protective suits, and respirators.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience.
• Experience with industrial data analysis, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), or high-volume manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and tools, battery production, or battery R&D.
• Experience using JMP, Minitab, Python, or MATLAB for data analysis.
