Software Development Manager (AI)

Location: The role follows a hybrid working policy; alert escalation coverage is required from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

Salary: $184,600–$277,000 USD base pay, with possible eligibility for a bonus package.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, recruit, and retain engineers across client-side, server-side, and full-stack teams.
• Set goals, clarify accountability, provide context, and build leadership capacity across multiple engineering teams.
• Review architecture, designs, code, and operations across client applications, APIs, distributed services, data systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Translate ambiguous product objectives into technical plans balancing reliability, security, maintainability, cost, and long-term architecture.
• Establish standards for software design, testing, observability, release management, deployment, documentation, and operational readiness.
• Improve service resilience, scalability, and performance while leading incident response and evaluating responsible AI applications.

Requirements

• Software development experience across client applications, APIs, distributed systems, cloud services, and device-to-backend platforms.
• Experience managing multiple engineering teams or leading a complex organization with multiple technical workstreams.
• Experience developing and releasing customer-facing client-side, server-side, or full-stack software.
• Experience with production services, including observability, scalability, performance, reliability, and incident management.
• Experience coaching engineers across career stages, setting performance expectations, and collaborating with Product, Design, Data, and Security leaders.
• Sound judgment regarding the opportunities, risks, and limitations of AI-assisted engineering or AI-powered products.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, public-cloud platforms, or cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with mobile, web, streaming, messaging, event-driven, connected-device, embedded, or other real-time technologies.
• Experience building global consumer products with demanding scale, availability, latency, or device-compatibility requirements.
• Experience coordinating client and cloud releases, leading distributed or hybrid teams, or introducing AI development tools and capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
