School Psychologist

Location: Chicago, IL, USA; full-time, in-person work on campus daily with regular travel between four KIPP Chicago campuses.

What you will do

• Assess students’ cognitive, emotional, adaptive, language, learning, and social needs using standardized, nondiscriminatory tools.
• Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports and explain findings to staff, families, and authorized participants.
• Participate in referrals, assessment planning, eligibility determinations, and IEP and 504 conferences.
• Support MTSS initiatives at assigned schools and provide region-wide best-practice guidance.
• Collaborate with school leaders, regional teams, and Achievement Directors to standardize MTSS processes, staff teams, and monitor progress.
• Coordinate with contractual school psychologists serving other campuses and help develop region-wide MTSS expectations.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in School Psychology.
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a School Psychology endorsement, or the former Type 73 Illinois School Service Personnel Certificate with a School Psychology endorsement.
• Knowledge of federal and Illinois special education law and special education best practices.
• Experience implementing and supporting MTSS programming and progress monitoring.
• Ability to work in person on campus daily with strong, punctual attendance.
• Cleared CPS background check and Faith’s Law Attestation required.

Nice to have

• Five years of school psychology experience with leadership experience.
