What you will do

• Modify, differentiate, and teach an inclusive curriculum in a safe and supportive classroom environment.
• Develop and monitor accommodations and modifications through 504 Plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Manage an IEP caseload, collect academic growth data, write IEPs, and participate in IEP meetings.
• Deliver pull-out, push-in, small-group, and one-on-one specialized instruction.
• Analyze student work and assessment trends with general education teachers, school leaders, and families.
• Build positive relationships with students and families while contributing to school-wide culture and instructional goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university before starting employment.
• Academic expertise in Special Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM, or a related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to students’ social-emotional and academic development.
• Interest in impacting K–12 students in urban schools and communities; 1–2 years of experience is preferred.
• Certification is not required at hire, but candidates must meet New York State certification eligibility requirements.
• Candidates without an education degree must enroll in a teacher preparation program and maintain a GPA of at least 2.5, then obtain New York State certification within a reasonable period after starting employment.

• Prior full-time teaching experience.
