Senior Design Manager/Architect

Location: South Flower Street, Los Angeles, California; hybrid

Compensation range: $179,925.15–$205,628.74 per year

What you will do

• Lead design planning, multidisciplinary coordination, and project delivery from initiation through completion.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to manage expectations and secure approvals.
• Oversee drawings, specifications, reports, design documentation, constructability, code compliance, accessibility, and sustainability requirements.
• Partner with the Commercial Manager on budgets, schedules, staffing plans, financial performance, and risk mitigation.
• Lead design teams, assign tasks, monitor progress, ensure accountability, and support proposals, contracts, and consultant agreements.
• Build client relationships, participate in business development and external events, and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or higher.
• Active California-licensed Registered Architect credential required.
• 15+ years of design experience, including project and design management responsibilities within the past 7 years.
• Working knowledge of BIM, CAD, Bluebeam, and other industry-standard digital delivery tools.
• Demonstrated ability in budget and schedule control, technical coordination, communication, negotiation, and project oversight.
• Experience with transportation, civic, or public sector projects required.
