Integrated Design Manager (Data Center Design)

Location: IAD-04; travel outside the home market up to 25%, with on-site time varying by project needs.

What you will do

• Lead design management from land enablement handoff through turnover to Construction and Operations.
• Integrate architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, BMS, and specialty systems.
• Manage third-party design teams, schedules, deliverables, stakeholder reviews, and comment resolution.
• Enforce design gates, CDE, CCL, DEC alignment, and internal approval processes.
• Identify and resolve design variances and technical approvals while maintaining risk registers and mitigation actions.
• Prepare design metrics, submission and permit tracking, reporting dashboards, and support coordination with Construction Managers and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 5 or more years of experience managing commercial project design programs.
• Experience in design engineering, building design processes, deliverables management, and design team management.
• Data center or other technical industry design or construction experience, particularly with MEP systems, is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Excel, Smartsheet, and design management tools; ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong organizational, analytical, coordination, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with IPD, Design-Build, or construction management.
• Experience with MS Projects, Prolog, Procore, BIM 360, or similar project management software.
• CAD knowledge.
