Principal Business Analyst – Enterprise Services (Financial Services)

Location: Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States. Hybrid work with an expectation to be in the St. Petersburg corporate office 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Lead requirements discovery, analysis, and documentation for enterprise integrations, APIs, platform enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, product backlog items, acceptance criteria, business rules, SLAs, SLOs, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, Enterprise Services, and Enterprise Data teams on scalable API-based solutions.
• Create API specifications, interface contracts, data mapping documents, source-to-target lineage, and integration documentation.
• Analyze complex financial data using Oracle databases and support production investigations, root cause analysis, testing, UAT, releases, and post-deployment validation.
• Improve business processes and delivery efficiency through standardization, automation, documentation, Agile practices, and mentoring junior analysts.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a Principal Business Analyst, Lead Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Functional Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Experience in financial services, wealth management, brokerage, custody, clearing, asset management, or securities operations.
• Expertise in requirements gathering, business process analysis, documentation, user stories, product backlogs, acceptance criteria, and stakeholder facilitation.
• Strong knowledge of securities, portfolio accounting, trade lifecycle, cost basis, tax lots, corporate actions, performance reporting, reconciliation, financial reporting, and operational controls.
• This role is not eligible for work visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.

Nice to have

• Advanced SQL, preferably Oracle, and experience with RESTful or SOAP API testing using Postman and SoapUI.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Splunk, Excel automation, API integrations, JSON, XML, log analysis, data validation, and data lineage.
• Experience with AI-powered productivity tools, generative AI, or low-code/no-code automation platforms.
• Exposure to Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar analytics platforms.
