Principal, Business Analyst

Location: Boston, MA, United States; office attendance 4 days per week with flexibility to work remotely 1 day per week

Salary: USD 120,000–225,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead business analysis for the security analytics platform, focusing on instrument pricing, analytics, and performance attribution.
• Partner with quantitative research and investment teams to translate pricing and attribution methodologies into functional and technical requirements.
• Improve analytics data quality, model transparency, system robustness, workflows, data integration, and user experience.
• Collaborate with technology teams to deliver analytics features and enhancements accurately and on time.
• Support critical production systems and resolve analytics, pricing, and attribution issues as a subject matter expert.
• Coordinate testing, validation, implementation, documentation, and stakeholder alignment with internal teams and external vendors.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a business systems analyst in financial services, focused on security analytics, instrument pricing, or performance attribution.
• Deep knowledge of asset classes, financial instruments, pricing principles, analytics, and performance attribution methodologies.
• Senior engineering experience with software design, development, and architecture.
• Expert knowledge of Java and Python, plus hands-on SQL and relational database experience.
• Experience with analytics and pricing vendors such as Bloomberg, FactSet, or MSCI, and exposure to valuation applications such as Numerix, Calypso, or FinCad.
• Experience supporting critical production applications, writing requirements and test plans, and working across the software development life cycle; bachelor’s degree required.
