Metallurgist Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Chihuahua, Mexico; full-time onsite position

What you will do

• Monitor daily metal transformation and production processes through walkthroughs, testing, and material evaluations.
• Analyze metallurgical test results, microstructures, heat treatments, chemical composition, strength, hardness, and other material properties.
• Optimize production processes, reduce waste, and participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Resolve quality and technical issues related to casting and metal composition in collaboration with engineering, maintenance, quality, and production.
• Maintain process documentation, records, procedures, method sheets, forms, and technical reports.
• Prepare monthly quality and metallurgical analysis reports and manage assigned projects within established deadlines and budgets.

Requirements

• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a similar field.
• At least 8 years of experience in a similar position.
• English required.
• Experience with nodular iron manufacturing, in-process molding, sand molding, and induction furnace refractory maintenance.
• Knowledge of statistical tools, data and trend analysis, continuous improvement methodology, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
• Experience preparing technical documentation and working with geometric and dimensional tolerances.
