Metallurgist Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Chihuahua, Mexico; onsite role.

What you will do

• Supervise metal production, processing, transformation, and analysis while monitoring daily processes and quality compliance.
• Perform metallurgical analysis, laboratory testing, material evaluations, and monthly quality and metallurgical reporting.
• Optimize casting and metal transformation processes to increase productivity, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement.
• Resolve technical, metallurgical, and casting quality issues in collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Production, and Corporate teams.
• Manage, train, and mentor assigned technical and multidisciplinary personnel.
• Maintain process documentation, records, test results, recommendations, project updates, and compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related field.
• English proficiency is required.
• At least 8 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience in nodular iron manufacturing, in-process molding, and sand molding processes.
• Knowledge of induction furnace refractory maintenance, statistical tools, geometric and dimensional tolerances, continuous improvement methodologies, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
• Experience with data and trend analysis and with preparing documentation, procedures, method sheets, and forms.

Nice to have

• Advanced experience in metallurgical analysis, including microstructures, heat treatments, and mechanical and physical properties of metals.
• Experience leading technical investigations and resolving metallurgical and casting quality issues.
• Ability to mentor multidisciplinary personnel and manage technical resources.
• Strong cross-functional and Corporate communication skills, including experience presenting technical reports and recommendations.
