Senior Welding & Assembly Process Quality Engineer (Welding)

Location: On-site five days per week in Monterrey/Apodaca, Nuevo León, Mexico

What you will do

• Develop robust welding and assembly processes for regular operations, new product development, and productivity initiatives.
• Define specifications, approval protocols, runoffs, installation requirements, and quality certifications for welding-related capital equipment.
• Apply 6-Sigma, DOE, A3, 9-Step Problem Solving, and 5-Why methods to identify root causes and resolve process issues.
• Develop welding programs, tools, fixtures, inspection processes, control plans, PFMEAs, JSAs, and ergonomic studies.
• Monitor and improve scrap, FPY, DPU, downtime, and efficiency indicators while addressing customer corrective action requests.
• Lead and coach PQA auditors, setup personnel, and welding and assembly teams, including operator certification programs based on AWS standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in welding and assembly process, manufacturing, process, or quality engineering.
• Experience with project management and team management.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, material flow, DMAIC, GD&T, Minitab, TPM, and AutoCAD.
• Advanced English proficiency required.
