Salary: $55,000–$81,000+ for uncertified teachers; $60,000–$91,000+ for certified teachers, depending on experience and certification status.

What you will do

  • Deliver rigorous, engaging English Language Arts instruction that develops reading, writing, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Create unit and daily lesson plans using provided curricula and resources.
  • Build an affirming, inclusive, safe, organized, and academically focused classroom environment.
  • Analyze student work and academic data to adjust instruction, curricula, accommodations, and modifications.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate with families about student growth and progress.
  • Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, instructional coaches, school leadership, and families; participate in professional development and school events.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of full-time ELA teaching experience; experience in an urban setting is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Pennsylvania Level I or Level II teaching certification strongly preferred.
  • If uncertified, enroll in a Pennsylvania-approved certification program within one year of hire and submit transcripts upon hire.
  • Strong classroom management, student-growth, collaboration, cultural competence, and inclusive-education skills.
  • Complete Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Child Abuse, and Cogent Federal Fingerprinting clearances before the start date.
