Maintenance Technician

TL;DR

Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing): Maintaining and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, controls, steam, refrigeration, and wastewater systems across a food manufacturing plant with an accent on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, fabrication, and production continuity. Focus on diagnosing complex equipment failures, supporting engineering projects, maintaining CMMS and SAP records, and ensuring safe operation in a demanding industrial environment.

Location: Onsite in Kenosha, Wisconsin, United States. Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM shift.

Salary: $24.42-$36.82 per hour, based on experience, skills, and location.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, controls, steam, refrigeration, and wastewater equipment.
• Execute preventive maintenance work while minimizing production interruptions.
• Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to maintain output and support plant projects.
• Fabricate components, tools, and equipment, including work involving sanitary systems.
• Maintain CMMS work orders, completions, requisitions, and inventory records.
• Use SAP to complete purchase requisitions and support maintenance operations.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience.
• Strong preventive maintenance and troubleshooting experience with pumps, gearboxes, and steam traps.
• Experience working with sanitary systems and the ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and similar material-handling equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 75 pounds, work at elevated heights, and perform physically demanding industrial tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to learn new and existing processing systems.
• Comfort working around machinery, noise, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, biohazards, and food allergens including wheat, eggs, dairy, and soy.

Nice to have

• Blue or Black Seal Boiler License.
• Food manufacturing and GMP environment experience.
• Experience with motors, drives, PLCs, temperature and flow instruments, and other control devices.
• Stainless steel and sanitary welding skills.
