Electronics Test Technician III

Location: On-site in Austin, Texas, United States. Due to U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations, applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

What you will do

• Execute electronics and RF test plans and provide concise, timely reports of findings.
• Work with engineers to create module and payload performance test setups and troubleshoot electronics from component to system level.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including spectrum analyzers, VNAs, automated power supplies, RF signal generators, vector signal analyzers, DMMs, and oscilloscopes.
• Design, assemble, validate, and document custom test fixtures, cable harnesses, instrumentation, and devices under test.
• Organize antenna testing facilities and validate the performance of instruments, cabling, and other test solutions.
• Multitask across test setup development, test execution, laboratory organization, and production or product-validation support.

Requirements

• High school diploma and at least six years of relevant experience, or an Associate of Applied Science degree and at least five years of relevant experience.
• Experience with active electronics and the ability to read schematics, diagrams, drawings, mechanical assembly documentation, and test procedures.
• Ability to solder, build and rework printed circuit boards and cabling, and familiarity with automated test systems.
• Hands-on experience using electronics laboratory instruments and troubleshooting varied electronics equipment.
• Ability to create documentation supporting the build and release of test solutions, work under deadlines, and maintain strong organization and communication.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience testing active phased arrays or AESAs.
• Experience with electronics in aerospace or a related industry.
• Technical proficiency with analog and digital electronic and electrical principles.
• Python scripting skills and experience with test automation such as LabVIEW.
