Senior Avionics Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: U.S. citizenship is required because the role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

What you will do

• Develop and execute test plans for components, subassemblies, and integrated systems.
• Design and build test fixtures, hardware-in-the-loop environments, automated test rigs, and automated test equipment.
• Validate electrical, digital, mechanical, RF, and avionics performance using precise instrumentation and data logging.
• Lead failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and feedback of test results into hardware design cycles.
• Drive qualification and environmental test campaigns, including thermal, vibration, EMI, and environmental stress screening.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, software, and mechanical engineering teams on cross-functional test integration.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or a related engineering field.
• Experience testing high-power subsystems, high-speed digital interfaces, actuators, or RF hardware.
• Hands-on experience developing automated test equipment with oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, electronic loads, switch matrices, network analyzers, or similar instruments.
• Familiarity with embedded control interfaces, including CAN, RS-422/485, SPI, and Ethernet.
• Experience with instrumentation control and data acquisition using Python, C++, protobufs, or scripting.
• U.S. citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with RF testing fundamentals, radar architecture, flight-like test environments, or flight test and launch operations.
• Experience with SCPI, VISA, or PyVISA, as well as software for environmental or RF chambers.
• Experience developing GUIs, dashboards, custom data-analysis scripts, databases, or embedded debugging tools.
• Experience with fault injection, failure-mode testing, and reliability qualification for mission-critical systems.
