TL;DR
PCBA Rework Technician (RF): Assembling, reworking, testing, and preparing high-precision electronic hardware for space and defense missions with an accent on IPC-certified soldering, electronics inspection, and production quality. Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; on-site

Compensation: $30–$40 per hour, plus equity.

What you will do

  • Assemble mechanical and electronic components using detailed procedures and tools such as torque wrenches.
  • Perform PCBA rework and apply staking materials for component stability.
  • Use production tracking software to monitor builds and workflow.
  • Execute basic hardware test scripts and bash commands.
  • Record, document, and communicate test results accurately.
  • Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot assembly and test issues.

Requirements

  • IPC certification covering IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711, IPC-7721, and J-STD-001 requirements is required, along with extensive PCBA rework experience.
  • High school diploma or GED, plus documented application of technical skills outside the classroom.
  • Associate degree, trade school certification, equivalent qualification, or 3+ years of professional technical experience involving prototyping and development.
  • Familiarity with DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, microscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other electronics lab equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, datasheets, and mechanical drawings, with a basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts.
  • Experience with quality control, inspection, testing, IPC standards, and hardware production environments such as aerospace, medical, or RF.
