Senior Embedded Software Engineer (SATCOM)

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations.

Salary: $133,000–$161,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and port embedded Linux applications, custom device drivers, and software libraries.
• Configure, modify, and integrate the Linux kernel and embedded boot loaders, including U-Boot.
• Maintain the Yocto build system in a CI/CD environment.
• Create, package, and deploy Linux software images for multiple embedded hardware platforms.
• Support software development from concept and detailed design through coding, qualification, production, and in-orbit operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration and performance, and present design reviews to customers and executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting software and hardware systems.
• Programming experience in C or C++.
• Strong understanding of multithreaded applications and resource management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Strong hands-on experience with Embedded Linux and Yocto.
• Experience with Xilinx platforms or other microcontroller-based systems.
• Experience with boot loaders, kernel-level development, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with software testing, high-reliability qualification, and software project management practices.
