What you will do

• Design core Linux platform infrastructure, including process management, custom initialization systems, and IPC frameworks.
• Develop and maintain Linux kernel modules and device drivers to support custom hardware.
• Modify kernel subsystems to optimize scheduling, memory management, and I/O performance.
• Collaborate with silicon, electrical, and RF teams to bring up hardware prototypes and optimize kernels for custom SoCs.
• Debug system-level performance issues and tune the networking stack for satellite links.
• Implement secure boot, runtime security monitoring, and hardware-backed credential management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• 8+ years of experience with C or C++ in Linux or embedded environments.
• Deep knowledge of Linux kernel, including driver development and system-level debugging.
• Proficiency with system-level debugging tools (GDB, perf, eBPF) and build systems (Buildroot, Yocto, Bazel).
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting large distributed systems or device fleets at scale.
• Proficiency with Rust or Python for systems tooling and automation.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet, and custom routing protocols.
• Experience with mission-critical aerospace, automotive, or medical high-reliability systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot down to assembly code and hardware-level diagnostics.
