Resident Inspector (Highway & Bridge)

Location: Falmouth, Maine, United States; travel to remote field locations is required

Salary: $101,600–$152,400 annually

What you will do

• Coordinate field inspectors and contractor representatives during construction work and testing.
• Monitor project progress and report deviations from schedule, contract price, or work quantities.
• Support project management, contract administration, and quality assurance and control.
• Track contractor submittals to ensure required reviews and approvals are completed before construction.
• Maintain project cost, quantity, contract, and construction records.
• Conduct final inspections, prepare punch lists, and support contract completion, acceptance, and closeout.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 10+ years of construction inspection experience, including at least 2 years in highway or bridge construction inspection.
• Familiarity with MaineDOT specifications and documentation practices.
• Ability to travel to remote field locations and access to reliable transportation.
