Construction/Field Engineer

Salary: $86,900–$110,300 annually

What you will do

• Coordinate with inspectors on field reviews, data collection, analysis, studies, and forecasting.
• Verify construction documents against field conditions and interpret construction drawings.
• Research and develop recommendations for construction approaches, materials, equipment, and engineering solutions.
• Collect and manage construction data, including quantity take-offs for engineering estimates.
• Prepare project information for schedules and budgets, and help monitor progress.
• Support change order negotiations and review contractor invoices and quantities in the client’s online system.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of construction or office engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field preferred.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, industry standards, construction schedules, and budgets.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and trades in the field.
• Commitment to client-focused solutions, ethical conduct, collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

Nice to have

• Infrastructure construction experience with a city agency such as Metro-North Railroad.
