TL;DR
Mold Maintenance Technician (Tooling and Manufacturing): Maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting production molds and tooling to support product quality and minimize manufacturing downtime with an accent on precision repairs, machining, and injection molding systems. Focus on diagnosing mold defects, restoring cores, cavities, inserts, ejector systems, hot runners, venting, and cooling circuits, and improving tooling performance with production, engineering, and quality teams.

Location: On-site in Bothell, Washington, United States

Salary: USD $30.00–$34.00 per hour

What you will do

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production molds and tooling.
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, polish, fit, and reassemble molds and components.
  • Diagnose wear, damage, misalignment, flashing, sticking, short shots, and other mold-related production issues.
  • Repair or replace cores, cavities, inserts, slides, ejector systems, cooling lines, hot runner systems, and related components.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and spare-parts usage.
  • Support mold installation, setups, changeovers, and tooling improvements with production, engineering, and quality teams.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in mold maintenance or tool and die work.
  • Experience with injection molding, compression molding, or other tooling systems.
  • Experience with machining, including CNC, milling, grinding, or EDM.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings and use calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, grinders, and shop equipment, plus strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • High school diploma or GED; technical training is preferred. Ability to lift or move up to 75 pounds and follow safety procedures is required.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Husky, Mold-Masters, or other hot runner systems.
  • Understanding of mold design and engineering specifications.
