Senior, Mold Maker

Nordson EFD designs and manufactures fluid dispensing systems and single-use fluid packaging.

What you will do

• Build new injection molds and repair existing molds by fabricating and machining cavities, cores, inserts, pins, plates, and other components.
• Assess tooling repairs, set up tool-room equipment, and recommend practical repair approaches.
• Operate conventional and CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM equipment.
• Measure mold components with gauges, jo blocks, comparators, micrometers, and other precision instruments.
• Disassemble and reassemble tooling, build production fixtures, and support molding and mold-preparation departments.
• Track repair status, maintain tools, and identify required accessories and replacement components.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of manufacturing experience evaluating, troubleshooting, building, and repairing injection molds.
• Ability to program and operate CNC equipment and work from sketches, prints, or samples.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
• Ability to handle tools weighing 50–13,000 lb and meet the physical requirements of the role.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background/criminal check is required.

Nice to have

• Technical or vocational school education.
• Journeyman status in machining or tooling.
• Experience with 300–13,000 lb tools and 80–770 ton molding machines.
• Experience using CAM software.
