Tooling Technician (Injection Molding)

Location: Chatham, NY, USA; first shift, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Salary: $29.32–$34.91 per hour, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, standard repairs, inspections, and reassembly of injection molds.
• Troubleshoot mold issues involving wear, venting, cooling inefficiencies, and minor component failures.
• Support mold changeovers, on-press startups, and production troubleshooting events.
• Operate milling machines, lathes, and grinders for repairs and minor modifications.
• Perform precision bench work, including polishing, fitting, component adjustment, and dimensional inspection.
• Document maintenance activities and coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to reduce downtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of mold maintenance, machining, or related mechanical experience.
• Ability to read mold prints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of milling, turning, grinding, metrology, and dimensional inspection.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and hot runner systems.
• Experience maintaining and repairing injection molds, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and following safety, quality, and continuous improvement practices.
