Power Electronics Engineer

Location: Hybrid role based in South Burlington, Vermont, United States

Base salary: $118,800–$163,350 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic components, integrated circuitry, and hardware systems.
• Create power electronics designs within interdisciplinary teams to solve complex product and manufacturing challenges.
• Lead feasibility studies, design testing, engineering analysis, qualification testing, and production launches.
• Conduct failure analysis investigations and engineering evaluations.
• Maintain drawings, specifications, lessons learned, design reports, test reports, operating manuals, and test procedures.
• Lead customer engagements to define product specifications, schedules, and budgets.

Requirements

• University degree, such as a bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and communicate clearly in oral, written, and presentation formats.
• Strong organization, planning, time management, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Eligibility to obtain authorization under ITAR and/or EAR is required; non-US persons may not be eligible.

Nice to have

• Experience designing, simulating, and prototyping high-power AC/DC power conversion equipment.
• Experience with silicon and wide-bandgap switching components, gate drivers, protection circuits, PWM, PLL, and PID control.
• Proficiency in C or C++, MATLAB, and hardware/software co-design using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Embedded firmware experience with DSPs, FPGAs, and specialized microcontrollers.
• Knowledge of magnetic circuit design, EMI/EMC filtering, thermal management, IEEE 1547, or UL 1741.
