Superintendent - Ground Up Buildings

Location: Dallas, TX, United States; full-time on-site construction supervision

What you will do

• Supervise construction projects from field execution through completion, close-out, and owner acceptance.
• Recruit, organize, train, direct, and coordinate field construction teams and subcontractor direct-hire work.
• Maintain CPM schedules and coordinate job planning, material ordering, tools, and supply allotment.
• Enforce safety procedures, verify subcontractor insurance certificates, and establish quality-control standards.
• Review drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submittals; lead or participate in pre-job and subcontractor meetings.
• Coordinate start-up testing, punchlists, reports, invoice approvals, and turnover to the owner.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or equivalent experience including four years as an Assistant Superintendent.
• Extensive field construction experience at a supervisory level.
• Current Safety Trained Supervisor certification, or ability to obtain it within six months of hire and maintain active certification.
• Working knowledge of all construction crafts and specifications, with prior foreman or journeyman experience in at least one trade, or project-engineer experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA laws, job scheduling, planning, expediting, and cost control.
• Strong problem-solving ability and sense of urgency; ability to travel and supervise multiple projects across a large geographic area.
