Assistant Superintendent (Cornwell, IL)

Location: Full-time onsite jobsite in Cornwell, Illinois, with travel to the Midwest Region; the posting also lists Princeville, Illinois.

Salary: $90,000–$117,000 per year.

What you will do

• Plan, organize, and direct construction and maintenance activities through successful project completion.
• Coordinate with supervisors, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve construction issues and work-procedure matters.
• Recruit, train, direct, and coordinate field construction teams and subcontractor work.
• Maintain the CPM project schedule and manage materials, tools, supply planning, reports, work orders, time sheets, and invoice approvals.
• Establish quality-control standards, review drawings and subcontractor submittals, and complete punch lists.
• Lead safety compliance, startup testing, owner turnover, final closeout, and acceptance documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or equivalent experience such as 2–4 years as a general foreman.
• Extensive field construction experience at a supervisory level, with knowledge of all construction trades and experience as a foreman, journeyman, or project engineer.
• Current Safety Trained Supervisor certification, or ability to obtain it within six months and maintain active certification.
• Knowledge of OSHA laws, job scheduling, planning, expediting, and cost control.
• Strong problem-solving ability and sense of urgency.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
