Location: Wasco, California, United States; long-term, full-time, on-site position with travel throughout project sites as required.
Salary: $100,000–$160,000 per year ($48–$77 per hour).

What you will do
- Conduct field safety inspections, audits, observations, and risk assessments for a major rail infrastructure program.
- Monitor contractor and consultant activities for compliance with OSHA, FRA, Cal/OSHA, and project-specific requirements.
- Review construction activities, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions and risk-reduction initiatives.
- Support environmental health and safety programs, including hazardous materials management and respiratory protection.
- Document findings, corrective actions, incidents, compliance activities, and safety performance data.
- Facilitate safety meetings, briefings, training, field coordination, incident response, and on-call support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in railroad, transportation operations, construction, or industrial safety.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, FRA, Cal/OSHA, and applicable construction and transportation safety regulations.
- Experience with field inspections, audits, hazard assessments, compliance reviews, incident investigation, and hazard mitigation.
- Ability to work in active field environments, travel between project sites, and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
- California-compliant motor vehicle license and proficiency with safety management, reporting, document management, field reporting, and Microsoft Office tools.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or Construction Management.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification or professional credentials such as CHST, OHST, ASP, or CSP.
- Experience with transit, freight rail, railroad, rail infrastructure, or major transportation construction safety programs.
- Experience with Safety Management Systems, safety data analysis, dashboards, hazardous materials, respiratory protection, or environmental health and safety programs.
