TL;DR

What you will do
- Develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate the Center’s occupational safety and health program.
- Identify hazards, conduct safety inspections across academic, vocational, residential, and off-site locations, and recommend corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, U.S. Department of Labor, Job Corps, Puerto Rico requirements, and internal policies.
- Investigate accidents, injuries, occupational illnesses, and other safety incidents; prepare reports and track corrective actions.
- Deliver safety orientations and training, support emergency preparedness, and facilitate monthly Safety Committee meetings.
- Coordinate fire safety inspections and advise managers, supervisors, instructors, students, visitors, and regulatory agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- At least two years of experience in occupational safety, occupational health, risk management, OSHA compliance, or a related field.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Valid Puerto Rico Driver’s License, Category 4, with a satisfactory driving record.
- Current Puerto Rico Act 300 (Ley 300) Certification.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk assessment, incident investigation, reporting, training delivery, Microsoft Office, organization, and problem-solving.
Nice to have
- Experience with incident investigations, safety inspections, and regulatory compliance programs.
- OSHA or related occupational safety and health professional certifications.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
