TL;DR
Field Service Technician II (Electrical and Electronic Systems): Installing, repairing, and maintaining threat detection and screening equipment at customer sites around Seattle with an accent on electrical and electronic troubleshooting, field repairs, and customer support. Focus on diagnosing equipment issues, managing repair parts and service documentation, supporting Trace and X-Ray technologies, and maintaining safe operations in demanding environments.

Location: Seattle, Washington, USA; daily travel to customer locations in and around Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and surrounding areas is required.

Salary: $75,240–$101,860 per year, plus a Business Profit Plan and benefits.

What you will do

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain field-deployed electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Meet daily service and repair needs, provide technical support, and deliver customer training when required.
  • Document inspections, maintenance, repairs, open issues, and customer reports.
  • Order, install, return, and manage service parts and repair cycle time.
  • Assess equipment performance, recommend improvements, and support service sales and revenue programs.
  • Maintain tools and test equipment, participate in site surveys and pilot service activities, and follow safety and export-control requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, related trade certification, or military training in electrical, electronic, or mechanical disciplines; 1–3 years of relevant work and life experience may be accepted as an equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems or equipment in the field.
  • Computer literacy, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn specialized software.
  • Strong communication, customer service, teamwork, organization, and multitasking skills; willingness to travel at short notice.
  • Successful TSA vetting and a federal background investigation are required for Sensitive Security Information access.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lb, push or pull up to 200 lb, and move equipment weighing up to 1,000 lb with appropriate assistance; ability to work safely in extreme environments and confined spaces.
