Focus on performing complex structural assessments, developing construction documentation, supporting projects through construction, and providing technical leadership to junior engineers.

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada — 380 Wellington Street West

Base compensation: $90,000–$115,000 annually

What you will do

  • Lead and support structural engineering design for rail and transit infrastructure projects across Canada.
  • Perform structural analysis, design calculations, engineering assessments, inspections, condition assessments, and rehabilitation studies.
  • Develop drawings, technical specifications, engineering reports, and construction documentation.
  • Design and review structural systems using steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber, and other materials.
  • Coordinate with civil, track, systems, architecture, geotechnical, construction, and project management teams throughout all project phases.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship while supporting client engagement, proposals, and practice growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering specialization, or a degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada is required.
  • At least 5 years of progressive structural engineering experience.
  • Experience with transportation, transit, rail, bridge, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian design codes and standards, including CSA and applicable transportation agency requirements.
  • Experience with structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, MIDAS, RAM, or similar platforms, along with strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
