Senior Software Project Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations.

What you will do

• Create software development plans within cost and schedule constraints.
• Lead planning meetings, retrospectives, and daily software standups.
• Communicate project status to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Represent software engineering to programmatic stakeholders, customers, and vendors.
• Maintain software issue tracking projects, including Jira, and prioritize feature development.
• Ensure consistent software lifecycle execution and improve project delivery processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience, including 1 year in embedded software development and 3 years in software project management.
• Experience project managing firmware development and familiarity with board-level hardware design processes.
• Knowledge of Agile and V-model software lifecycle and management approaches.
• Competency with issue tracking, requirements management, and configuration management tools; Jira is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor information to different audiences.
