TL;DR
Project Manager – Advanced Programs (Aerospace): Developing budgets, schedules, estimates, and proposals for lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft with an accent on mission concept definition, program finance, and technology roadmapping. Focus on managing early-stage lunar technology projects, decomposing financial and contractual volumes, resolving technical risks, and coordinating NASA, government, commercial, partner, and vendor requirements.

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, or remote within the United States. Applicants must be a U.S. Person—a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual—and must be eligible to obtain required export authorizations under ITAR and EAR.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 base salary annually, depending on experience, skills, and location.

What you will do

  • Develop program budgets and schedules for lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft.
  • Manage early technology development projects and paid architecture studies across budget, schedule, deliverables, and customer interfaces.
  • Build bottom-up estimates covering bills of materials, cash flow models, labor, resources, and risks.
  • Support proposal content and external customer presentations for NASA, government, and commercial mission opportunities.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines, partners, customers, vendors, and supply chain organizations to resolve technical risks.
  • Ensure project plans align with mission needs, business requirements, and the company technology roadmap.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline, plus 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience; an advanced degree may substitute for equivalent experience.
  • Experience in project or program management, project finance, and program planning.
  • Experience developing proposal and customer-presentation content and authoring and decomposing financial and contractual volumes.
  • Strong understanding of launch, space, and lunar environments.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, problem-solving, communication, and self-direction skills.
  • U.S. Person status and eligibility for required export authorizations are mandatory.

Nice to have

  • Experience with the full development lifecycle of complex aerospace systems.
  • Experience with large NASA or other U.S. Government proposals and contracts.
  • Knowledge of NASA and industry engineering standards.
  • Agile experience with tools such as Confluence and Jira.
  • Eligibility to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
