Project Manager III (Battery & Avionics)

Location: Grandview, Missouri, United States. Relocation is provided, travel is expected up to 25% of the time, and first-shift operations are available. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, refugees, or asylees under export control regulations.

What you will do

• Lead complex projects integrating battery systems, power distribution, and avionics technologies from concept through delivery.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, technical performance, metrics, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate electrical, mechanical, software, test, supplier, and regulatory teams.
• Oversee design, development, qualification testing, and technical interface management for integrated systems.
• Lead technical risk assessment and mitigation focused on battery safety, performance, and avionics reliability.
• Facilitate design reviews, technical interchange meetings, status reporting, and leadership communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of project management experience for technical products.
• Knowledge of battery technologies, energy storage systems, battery management systems, and vehicle-system integration.
• Experience with avionics systems such as flight computers, sensors, or communications equipment.
• Familiarity with aerospace or automotive development lifecycles, qualification processes, and project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Agile/Scrum.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering, systems engineering, or an MBA.
• PMP certification or equivalent credential.
• Experience with lithium-ion batteries, thermal management, power electronics, and power distribution.
• Knowledge of DO-178, DO-254, DO-160, UN 38.3, IEC 62133, or UL 1642 standards.
• Experience with flight testing, hardware-in-the-loop testing, systems engineering, requirements management, or MBSE.
