TL;DR
Software Technical Project Manager (Aerospace): Managing software development and integration for spacecraft communication, networking, payload software, and data security programs with an accent on embedded systems, secure network systems, and government program delivery. Location: Littleton, Colorado, United States; based at the Littleton site

Salary: $120,000–$170,000 USD per year, plus potential stock and cash incentives

What you will do

  • Manage software development and integration for routers, radios, and laser communication devices across a spacecraft constellation.
  • Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal engineering teams to deliver roadmaps, development plans, and program milestones.
  • Design simulation and testing approaches for constellation networking and plan major cross-team integration activities.
  • Define KPIs, staffing plans, delivery cadences, and software development standards and procedures.
  • Lead agile ceremonies, including Increment Planning, stakeholder reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Drive feedback collection, continuous improvements, and software deliverable quality against customer requirements.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of industry experience in computer science, software engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of project management experience, including collaboration with external contractors.
  • Thorough understanding of network software, the software development lifecycle, Agile, and Scaled Agile Framework methodologies.
  • Experience with Jira and systems engineering methods, including systems trades, requirements management, performance characterization, and interface management.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Active SECRET or TS/SCI clearance.
  • Master’s degree in aerospace, computer science, electrical engineering, or another technical discipline.
  • Experience with SDA NEBULA architectures, cybersecurity controls, encryption, DevSecOps, Docker, or Kubernetes.
  • Project management qualifications such as PMP or APMP.
  • Experience leading Agile teams and using tools such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.
  • Experience working with RF and spacecraft systems.
