Software Technical Project Manager (Space Systems)

Location: Onsite at hirify.global headquarters in Long Beach, California, United States. U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements, and an active Secret clearance is required.

Salary: $150,000–$185,000 USD per year, plus company stock and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage software development and integration for spacecraft constellation routers, radios, and laser communication devices.
• Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal engineering teams to deliver integrated systems and meet program milestones.
• Maintain roadmaps, product development plans, staffing plans, contractor KPIs, and software delivery procedures.
• Plan constellation networking simulations, testing, major integration points, and cross-team feature drops.
• Lead agile ceremonies, including Increment Planning, stakeholder reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Drive feedback collection, process improvements, and software quality practices aligned with customer requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar technical discipline, plus 8+ years of industry experience.
• 3+ years of project management experience, including work with external contractors.
• Thorough understanding of network software, software development lifecycles, Agile, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Experience with Jira and systems engineering methods, including requirements, interfaces, performance characterization, and systems trades.
• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI clearance and a master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Experience with SDA NEBULA architectures, cybersecurity controls, encryption, RF, spacecraft, or government programs.
• Experience leading Agile teams and holding PMP, APMP, or similar project management qualifications.
• Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps.
• Proactive problem-solving, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
