Logistics Planner I

Location: Atlanta, Georgia; on-site. Up to 5% travel to partner locations may be required.

Salary: $60,000–$70,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Coordinate plant, distribution center, and vendor truckload pickups, including shipment tendering to carriers.
• Track shipments, discrepancies, delays, accessorial issues, and required updates in the Transportation Management System.
• Develop recovery plans for capacity shortages and service disruptions, monitor carrier performance, and escalate service failures.
• Build working relationships with plants, distribution centers, vendors, suppliers, carriers, and internal transportation teams.
• Support transportation sourcing events, including bids, rate analysis, carrier communication, implementation, and performance tracking.
• Maintain carrier qualification and compliance documentation, provide proof of delivery, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations, preferably with truckload shipment coordination.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Logistics preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, communication, and attention-to-detail skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to coordinate with internal teams, vendors, suppliers, and carriers while managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to work on-site in Atlanta, Georgia and travel to partner locations as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with Transportation Management Systems.
• Experience planning or supporting a dedicated truckload fleet.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel.
