Load Planner (Trucking)

Salary: $70,400–$80,000 per year

What you will do

• Coordinate trucking fleet operations, traffic flows, freight allocations, and customer delivery and pickup schedules.
• Manage designated customer accounts, revenue bases, shipping requirements, and freight rates.
• Enter electronic orders accurately and communicate with drivers to resolve conflicts and maintain freight flow.
• Preplan trucks and drivers, maximizing equipment utilization while meeting customer requirements.
• Review financial reports, take corrective action, and coordinate with other departments to improve customer satisfaction.
• Remain available by company cell phone during all hours.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in transportation, preferably in dispatching.
• Knowledge of transportation laws, safety regulations, and basic trucking operations.
• PC skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, time-management, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree related to transportation or business.
• Experience with the TMW dispatch system and Omnitracs satellites.
