Insurance Agent - Commercial Lines

Location: Lansing, Michigan, United States. After initial in-person training, the role may allow working from home up to 3 days per week; punctual attendance is required at a company-approved work location.

What you will do

• Service commercial insurance policies and answer policyholder questions in coordination with other departments.
• Collect policyholder information, explain insurance options, and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Perform frontline underwriting for new business applications, renewals, and endorsements according to company guidelines.
• Bind eligible coverage, ensure policy accuracy, and process account inquiries and entries.
• Collect information to open claims and coordinate with lenders and mortgage companies.
• Explain non-renewal and cancellation decisions while handling confidential information appropriately.

Requirements

• Several years of related experience and/or training, or a bachelor's degree.
• At least two years of customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required resident and non-resident insurance licenses.
• Ability to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship is required.
• Ability to work punctually according to an assigned schedule at an approved work location.
