Engineering Technician - Automation (Mechatronics)

What you will do

• Install individual equipment and complete manufacturing lines using equipment layouts, schematics, and process pipeline diagrams.
• Perform mechanical assembly, drilling, tapping, alignment, and aluminum extrusion profile assembly for automation work cells.
• Install and integrate PLCs, electrical enclosures, sensors, scanners, industrial cameras, and motion controllers.
• Troubleshoot equipment, PLC, I/O, sensor, camera, scanner, and motion-control connections during startup and improvement projects.
• Maintain wiring diagrams, PLC logic records, configuration files, and other automation documentation.
• Support continuous improvement, equipment repairs, system updates, quality verification, and training for maintenance technicians and machine operators.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technology field with at least two years of hands-on experience; or technical high school education in a related field with at least three years of high-volume manufacturing experience.
• Experience with mechanical assembly equipment and automated equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using electrical measurement and testing tools, including a multimeter.
• Ability to read and use CAD drawings; SolidWorks viewing and modification skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, teamwork, independence, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and verify that automation systems meet quality tolerances and standards.

Nice to have

• PLC and HMI installation and configuration experience.
• Experience with barcode readers and smart cameras such as Cognex, Keyence, or SICK.
• SolidWorks experience creating detailed parts and assembly drawings.
