Focus on accurately preparing chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy IV medications, maintaining quality and safety records, and supporting the medication use continuum.

Location: Round Rock, Texas, United States. Full-time onsite position with Monday–Friday alternating shifts from 8:00am–4:30pm and 8:30am–5:00pm; no weekends, on-call shifts, or major holidays.

What you will do

  • Prepare and admix medication orders, including chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy IV medications, under pharmacist or physician supervision.
  • Check orders for completeness, patient information, dosage, and physician authorization.
  • Calculate dosage volumes and convert between metric and apothecary measurements.
  • Maintain controlled-substance records, medication logs, inventory records, lot numbers, and expiration dates.
  • Clean and maintain hoods and admixture areas, perform quality assurance checks, and document temperature and other required logs.
  • Support labeling, data entry, pre-billing review, ordering medications and supplies, and safe disposal of compounding materials.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Entry-level pharmacy experience for Level 1; at least one year of pharmacy experience with IV skills for Level 2.
  • At least five years of pharmacy experience with IV skills for the Senior level.
  • Pharmacy technician certification is recommended unless required by state law; IV certification is preferred for Level 2 and Senior roles.
  • Ability to perform accurate measurements, maintain manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination, and stand or sit for extended periods; occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds is required.
  • Work is performed onsite in Round Rock, Texas, with exposure to patients, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and chemotherapeutic agents.

Nice to have

  • IV sterile compounding experience.
  • Oncology experience or extensive IV preparation experience.
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited or community college-based pharmacy program.
