Location: New York, NY 10018; full-time onsite role

Salary: $100,117.50–$157,643.00 base pay; enhanced market pricing range of $176,083–$208,914 may apply in qualifying locations.

What you will do

  • Lead underwriting for complex commercial loan requests and recommend risk-mitigating structures.
  • Manage and monitor an assigned loan portfolio, identifying credit risks, trends, and performance concerns.
  • Partner with relationship managers and clients to negotiate loan terms aligned with client needs and risk parameters.
  • Review and negotiate credit agreements with legal teams while maintaining compliance with bank policies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Resolve portfolio-related problems, use independent judgment, and recommend improvements to credit processes.
  • Mentor junior credit professionals and share credit expertise and best practices.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or 10+ years of equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in commercial credit analysis, underwriting, or portfolio management.
  • Advanced financial modeling, financial analysis, and credit risk assessment skills.
  • Experience structuring complex loan transactions and analyzing macroeconomic impacts on credit risk.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of credit agreements, loan documentation, regulatory requirements, financial analysis tools, CRM systems, and underwriting software.
